Job Description

Work as a lifeguard on BUNAC’s Summer Camp USA programme – the leading US work and travel experience! Spend nine weeks working with kids aged between 6 and 16 on an American summer camp.

A lifeguard is responsible for carrying out lifeguarding duties and maintaining a safe swimming environment for campers and staff. Often, pool maintenance is also part of the job. Facilities range from a heated outdoor pool to swimming in a cordoned-off area of a natural lake.

After camp, take advantage of the additional 30 days to travel around the USA, Canada and Mexico. Visit beautiful natural landmarks such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park and Niagara Falls, and experience world-class cities including New York, Chicago and San Francisco, to name only a few.

Experience Required

BUNAC individually places applicants on summer camps according to their preferences, skills and experience. For the role of lifeguards, applicants should be energetic and hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, or equivalent, with experience of working with children in a leadership position. Applicants must also be aged 18 or above.
